Vendredi, 18 mars 2016 : Signature d’un Memorandum of Understanding entre le Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law et la Bibliothèque nationale de Luxembourg (BnL) en vue d’une coopération entre les deux organisations visant à intégrer le Max Planck Institute dans l’infrastructure du Consortium Luxembourg pour l’acquisition et la gestion de publications numériques, gérée par la Bibliothèque nationale.
Le Memorandum a été signé par le professeur Burkhard Hess, directeur de l’Institut Max Planck à Luxembourg et Monique Kieffer, directrice de la BnL, en présence de Juja Chakarova, responsable de la bibliothèque de l’Institut et de Juliane Schulze, collaboratrice la Section du Consortium de la Bibliothèque nationale.
Consortium Luxembourg
Le Consortium Luxembourg a pour objet l’acquisition et la gestion de publications électroniques rendues accessibles via le moteur de recherche www.a-z.lu. Il est géré et coordonné par la Bibliothèque nationale qui assure aussi la négociation des contrats de licence avec les fournisseurs et éditeurs. Le Consortium rassemble la Bibliothèque nationale, l’Université du Luxembourg, le Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) et le Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH). Actuellement, plus de 53.000 titres de revues électroniques, 99.000 ebooks scientifiques et 370 bases de données sont accessibles, pour la plupart à distance, par les usagers et lecteurs des institutions membres du Consortium.
Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law

The Institute is the first Max Planck Institute on legal matters outside the German borders. It owes its existence to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg which finances the Institute entirely, as a part of a broader strategy of the local government to develop Luxembourg as a center for academic excellence and higher education. The location in Luxembourg is ideal for a Max Planck Institute focusing on procedural law: Luxembourg is indeed the synonym for the constant development and expansion of the legal systems of the EU Member States by means of European law and of the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union. The MPI has already established a continuous and productive dialogue with the European courts and institutions. A close cooperation exists with the faculty of law of the University of Luxembourg in research and also in teaching and with the National Library of Luxembourg in library matters. The MPI library subscribes to 40 online legal databases containing more than 24,000 electronic journals to facilitate the research of the Institute. It is also open to researchers from Luxembourg and visiting guests.
